In general Hypalon is an elastomer used for a wide range of applications as a result of some of its special characteristics such as:

• behaves well in a wide range of temperatures;
• excellent mechanical characteristics;
• excellent resistance to ozone, atmospheric agents and heat;
• excellent chemical resistance, especially to oxidising and corrosive agents;
• excellent resistance to seawater and saline solutions;
• good resistance to acids and strong mineral bases, hypochlorites and alcohols;
• low permeability to humidity and other vapours, air and gas;
• excellent flame resistance;
• good dielectric characteristics.
